Academic Excellence

A commitment to excellence, free of political or ideological bias, is a key component of a thriving public education system. A strong scholastic foundation - including curriculum selection, academic rigor and quality instruction - will provide students with the best opportunities and choices for their future. Teach our children how to think not what to think.

Focus on the Basics:
-
In 2019, 43% of Leander ISD 3rd Graders were not reading at grade level. 44% were behind in math.
-
Focus on reading, writing, math, science and social studies skills to be taught in neutral classrooms without the distractions of political or ideological bias as stated in Senate Bill 3.
-
Remove instructional materials that are pervasively vulgar or sexually explicit for minors. Select instructional materials that adhere to the "Ten Ethical Principles" promised to the community by Leander ISD.
